Residents residing in tall buildings hurriedly vacated their homes, seeking refuge on the streets as the relentless tremors persisted for more than a minute, instilling a sense of dread and unease.
Tragically, the aftermath of the calamity unveiled a devastating toll, with reports confirming the loss of at least 140 lives in a remote area of Nepal, where the earthquake struck late Friday. Distressingly, officials anticipate that the count of casualties is likely to surge, underscoring the magnitude of the disaster.
Recalling the harrowing experience, Arti, a Delhi local, recounted the terrifying moments, "I was resting on my bed when suddenly the entire room began to shake vigorously. I immediately reached out to my sister who was sleeping beside me. As we rushed to the balcony, the clamor from the outside intensified, adding to the chaos and confusion," as stated by news agency ANI.

The sudden onset of dizziness gripped Tushar, a Noida resident, as he was engrossed in watching television. Startled by the unexpected sensation, his attention was swiftly drawn to the broadcast detailing the occurrence of an earthquake. Reacting swiftly to the unfolding events, he hastened to evacuate his residence, propelled by a surge of adrenaline and a primal instinct for self-preservation.
Friday's seismic disturbance marked the latest addition to a series of tremors that have unsettled the Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) area, reverberating as far as Patna, Katihar, Motihari, and various other districts along the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar. Reflecting on the unsettling experience, a Patna local recounted, "I was lying down on my bed when I sensed the subtle tremors, and to my astonishment, even the ceiling fan above me began to sway. Without a moment's hesitation, I swiftly made my way out of my dwelling, prioritizing safety above all else."
